SCHI were thrilled to welcome Kawana Waters Medical Immersion Program onsite this week. The program aims to expose Sunshine Coast Year 10 and Year 11 students to medical professions that align with health workforce development. Medical careers explored in the program include medicine, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech pathology, and dentistry. The program was founded in 2020 with the goal of exposing students in medical professions and provides support for students in their academic and personal development. This 3-night camp offers an opportunity to immerse students in real life medical experiences and connect with like-minded students.

While at SCHI, the students had the opportunity to be immersed in simulated medical experiences including advanced airway skills, medical imaging, asthma simulation and respiratory clinical measurements after hearing from Griffith University Senior Lecturer in Clinical Education, Dr Gamage.
