Sunshine Coast Health recently welcomed 75 new interns who will provide care across the entire Sunshine Coast region. These interns have completed their studies at universities across Queensland, including local graduates from Griffith University at SCHI, the University of Queensland, and James Cook University.

During their first week of orientation, the interns participated in hands-on training in SCHI’s simulation suites. They practiced essential skills such as aseptic technique and pathology, and faced a realistic scenario involving a deteriorating patient.

SCHI plays a vital role in supporting Sunshine Coast Health by delivering ongoing training for medical specialists, nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals. Through simulation-based learning, education, and research, SCHI ensures continuous professional development and excellence in patient care.
