Did you know Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service have predicted the Sunshine Coast region will require 43.5% more clinical health workers and 43.4% more non-clinical health workers by 2034? This data aligns with an increase in retiring workers coupled with increased population growth on the Sunshine Coast.

Last week SCHI hosted Sunshine Coast Council (Regional Jobs Committee) Health Skills Forum with the aim to understand barriers to workforce participation, identify gaps for the industry, acknowledge what transferable skills workers are required in healthcare and explore the different education pathways for the industry.

A range of healthcare careers were on hand to give firsthand experience including clinical, health support services, allied health and aged care. SCHI are proud to support such initiatives to support our community.
